From the manufacturers' point of view, the introduction of Intelligent Vehicle Safety Systems based on costly sensors, actuators, electronic components and subsystems increases the manufacturing cost, power consumption and weight, making it also more difficult to meet the environmental requirements imposed to new vehicle production.
