Is of the opinion that, in addition to the challenges identified in the ESS as adopted in 2003, the security interests of the Union include the protection of its citizens and its interests inside the EU as well as abroad, the security of its neighbourhood and the protection of its external borders and critical infrastructure, as well as the improvement of its cyber security, the security of energy supply and sea lanes, the protection of its space assets and protection against the consequences of climate change;
19. vertritt die Auffassung, dass die Sicherheitspolitischen Interessen der Union zusätzlich zu den in der ESS von 2003 anerkannten Herausforderungen den Schutz ihrer Bürger und ihrer Interessen innerhalb wie außerhalb der Europäischen Union, die Sicherheit ihrer Nachbarländer, den Schutz ihrer Außengrenzen und kritischer Infrastrukturen sowie die Verbesserung ihrer Computer- und Netzsicherheit, die Sicherheit der Energieversorgung und der Seewege, den Schutz ihrer Weltraumressourcen und den Schutz gegen die Folgen des Klimawandels umfassen;
