The bulk of the EU-US productivity growth differential since 1995 stems from the diverging trends in total factor productivity (TFP) – a measure of the efficiency with which all factor inputs, including labour, information and communication equipment (ICT capital) and conventional capital (equipment and structures), are utilised.
