(18) Wenngleich diese Verordnung vorsehen sollte, dass eine andere Stelle für gewisse Aufgaben im Bereich der Akkreditierung anerkannt werden kann, betreibt die Europäische Kooperation für die Akkreditierung (EA), deren Hauptaufgabe es ist, ein transparentes und qualitätsorientiertes System zur Beurteilung der Kompetenz von Konformitätsbewertungsstellen in ganz Europa zu fördern, für die nationalen Akkreditierungsstellen aus den Mitgliedstaaten und anderen europäischen Ländern ein System der Beurteilung unter Gleichrangigen.
(18) While this Regulation should provide for the recognition of another body in respect of certain functions in the area of accreditation, the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA), whose main mission is to further a transparent and quality led system to evaluate the competence of conformity assessment bodies throughout Europe, is managing a peer evaluation system among national accreditation bodies from the Member States and other European countries.
