I, and many colleagues, warmly welcomed in 2005 the launching of a bus service across the line of control between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad allowing divided families to be reunited after nearly 60 years, and it is my hope that, eventually, the borders, including the line of control, will be just a line on the map and become increasingly irrelevant.
Ich habe, wie viele Kolleginnen und Kollegen, im Jahr 2005 die Einrichtung einer Busverbindung über die Grenz- und Kontrolllinie hinweg zwischen Srinagar und Muzzafarabad wohlwollend begrüßt; so konnten seit fast sechzig Jahren getrennte Familien wieder zusammengeführt werden, und ich hoffe, dass die Grenzen, auch die Grenz- und Kontrolllinie, am Ende nur noch eine Linie auf der Landkarte darstellen und zunehmend an Bedeutung verlieren wird.
