Emphasises, recalling that to date there is no specific forest policy on the prevention of forest fires, that, particularly in the Mediterranean region, forest fires occur on a regular basis, and are both a cause and a consequence of climate change; points out that storms and forest fires and pests can be mitigated using improved and active forest management and forestry techniques through, for example, grazing and agro-forestry practices under the common agricultural policy;
13. stellt angesichts der Tatsache, dass es bis heute keine gesonderte Waldpolitik zur Prävention von Waldbränden gibt, fest, dass Waldbrände insbesondere im Mittelmeerraum ein immer wieder auftretendes Phänomen darstellen, das den Klimawandel sowohl forciert als auch auf ihn zurückzuführen ist; weist darauf hin, dass Stürme, Waldbrände und Schädlinge mit verbessertem und aktivem Forstmanagement und den entsprechenden Techniken wie beispielsweise dem Beweiden und agroforstwirtschaftlichen Praktiken im Rahmen der gemeinsamen Agrarpolitik eingegrenzt werden können;
