The article goes on to point out the yield difference between investment grade bonds and junk bonds, concluding that ‘this indicates that investors continue to shun low-grade corporate bonds, expanding the spread between high-credited bonds and the so-called junk bonds to their widest margin’. A press report in June 2001 stated that ‘Investors have started gazing down the Asian credit curve, but they still lack the nerve to eye corporates with ratings below the bottom rung of investment grade at BBB-minus.
Im weiteren Verlauf des Artikels wird dann auf das Renditegefälle zwischen Investment-Grade-Unternehmensanleihen und Schrottanleihen hingewiesen und der Schluss gezogen, dass „Investoren nach wie vor gering eingestufte Unternehmensanleihen meiden und dabei eine möglichst große Spanne zwischen hoch eingestuften Anleihen und so genannten Schrottanleihen zu schaffen suchen.“ In einem Pressebericht vom Juni 2001 hieß es, dass „Investoren jetzt beobachten, wie die Bonität asiatischer Unternehmen zunehmend sinkt, ihnen aber noch der Mut fehlt, Unternehmen mit Ratings ins Auge zu fassen, die das Investment-Grade-Rating BBB- erhalten haben.
