Recalls the independence of the ECB in the conduct of its monetary policy, as enshrined in the Treaties; argues that the conduct of monetary policy should be democratic and should result from deliberation between different viewpoints and approaches in order that transparency, and thereby democratic accountability, may be strengthened; recalls, in this respect, the importance of the monetary dialogue and of the written questions submitted by MEPs;
28. verweist darauf, dass die EZB bei der Durchführung ihrer geldpolitischen Maßnahmen laut Vertrag unabhängig handelt; führt an, dass die Durchführung der Geldpolitik demokratisch sein und auf der Abwägung verschiedener Standpunkte und Ansätze basieren sollte, um die Transparenz und somit auch die demokratische Rechenschaftspflicht zu stärken; weist in diesem Zusammenhang erneut auf die Bedeutung des währungspolitischen Dialogs und der schriftlichen Anfragen der Mitglieder hin;
