For the rest, with regard to the EMU’s economic instruments and the governance of our group, I believe that, over the last few years, we have made remarkable progress, but when we debate exchange policy and monetary policy at international level, it is unthinkable that the world’s second major currency should not be represented in political and monetary terms by those responsible for managing these two aspects and these two areas of our common policy.
Im Übrigen glaube ich in Hinblick auf die wirtschaftlichen Instrumente der WWU und die Governance unserer Gruppe, dass wir in den letzten Jahren beachtliche Fortschritte erzielt haben, aber wenn wir über Devisenpolitik und Währungspolitik auf internationaler Ebene sprechen, ist es undenkbar, dass die zweitgrößte Währung der Welt weder in politischer noch in währungspolitischer Hinsicht durch diejenigen vertreten sein sollte, die für das Management dieser beiden Aspekte und dieser beiden Bereiche unserer gemeinsamen Politik verantwortlich sind.
