Takes the view that the United States and the European Union, as regions which host the world’s most important financial centres, need a common approach to tackling the financial and economic crises, and insists that only this can prevent regulatory arbitrage which enables the financial industry on one side of the Atlantic to play its government off against the administration on the other side;
