For obvious reasons, it is not possible to propose the complete abolition of vivisection, but I call for amendments to the text so as to include non-invasive practices and to ban the use of animals for medico-legal investigations and for teaching, while preventing exceptions to the humane method of killing and the ban on the use of endangered or wild animals by setting up a European guarantee committee.
Aus naheliegenden Gründen ist es nicht möglich, die vollständige Abschaffung von Tierversuchen vorzuschlagen. Ich fordere daher, dass Änderungen am Text vorgenommen werden, wie zum Beispiel die Aufnahme nicht-invasiver Verfahren und das Verbot der Verwendung von Versuchstieren für gerichtsmedizinische Untersuchungen und für die Lehre. Darüber hinaus muss durch die Einrichtung eines europäischen Bürgschaftsausschusses verhindert werden, dass es Ausnahmen zum humanen Tötungsverfahren und dem Verbot der Verwendung gefährdeter oder wilder Tiere gibt.
