As a founder of the European Union, France and its president, Nicolas Sarkozy, have the task to pool the efforts of all twenty-seven member states together again, and come up with a legal formula and an action plan to find a way out of the Lisbon crisis because unless we overcome it, we run the risk of centrifugal and nationalistic passions taking the upper hand and putting a freeze on the process of further enlargement of the European Union.
Es ist nun Aufgabe Frankreichs als Gründungsstaat der Europäischen Union und seines Präsidenten Nicolas Sarkozy, alle siebenundzwanzig Mitgliedstaaten wieder in ihren Bemühungen zu einen und eine Rechtsformel sowie einen Aktionsplan zu erarbeiten, die einen Ausweg aus der Lissabon-Krise weisen, denn wenn wir diese Krise nicht überwinden, laufen wir Gefahr, dass separatistische und nationalistische Gefühle Oberhand gewinnen und den Erweiterungsprozess der Europäischen Union in Zukunft lähmen.
