Stresses the danger of the term ‘innovation’ becoming a well-worn cliché that breeds complacency simply through repeated use; innovation alone is not a panacea for coping with every problem and cannot be conjured up at will in times of economic and social crisis. On the contrary, it must be a constant endeavour in the public and private sector and be actively supported by means of cohesive educational, research, industrial, social and environmental strategies on the part of the EU and its Member States;
28. weist auf die Gefahr hin, dass der Begriff „Innovation“ zu einer bloßen Worthülse verkommen könnte, die allein durch ihre häufige Verwendung ein Gefühl der Selbstzufriedenheit erzeugt; Innovation allein ist jedoch kein Allheilmittel zur Bewältigung wie auch immer gearteter Probleme und lässt sich in Zeiten der wirtschaftlichen und sozialen Krise nicht einfach herbeizaubern; im Gegenteil sollte Innovation eine Konstante in den Bemühungen des öffentlichen und privaten Sektors darstellen und im Wege kohärenter Strategien der EU und ihrer Mitgliedstaaten in den Bereichen Bildung, Forschung, Industrie, Soziales und Umweltschutz aktiv gefördert werden;
