Anhand von Indikatoren der in Tabelle 1 niedergelegten Art betreibt die Kommission derzeit ihr erstes systematisches bereichsübergreifendes Screening des Acquis communautaire; sie hat bereits als Teil ihrer Initiative der ersten Phase (bis September 2003) spezielle Politikbereiche abgegrenzt, die einer detaillierten Untersuchung auf ihr Vereinfachungspotenzial, einschließlich einer Vereinfachung durch Neufassung, unterzogen werden sollen (Tabelle 2).
On the basis of indicators of the kind set out in Table 1, the Commission is now undertaking its first-ever, systematic horizontal screening of the Community acquis and has already identified, as part of its first phase initiative (to September 2003), specific policy areas that will be subjected to a detailed scrutiny for their simplification potential, including through recasting (Table 2).
