It has now been proved that these products, which contain the active substances imidacloprid and fipronil, have a damaging effect on the nervous systems of honey-gathering insects, not only on the crop which undergoes the seed treatment but also for subsequent crops in the rotation, since these systemic products persist for several years in harvesting residues which are ploughed into the soil and subsequently in humus.
