(2) On 30 November 1999 the Executive Body to the Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution adopted the Protocol to Abate Acidification, Eutrophication and Ground-level Ozone (Gothenburg Protocol); the Gothenburg Protocol sets maximum permitted levels of emissions (emission ceilings) for each national Party for the four main precursor pollutants responsible for acidification, eutrophication and ground-level ozone: sulphur dioxyde, oxides of nitrogen, volatile organic compounds and ammonia; these ceilings are to be met by 2010.
(2) Am 30. November 1999 hat das Exekutivorgan des Übereinkommens über weiträumige grenzüberschreitende Luftverunreinigung das Protokoll betreffend die Verringerung von Versauerung, Eutrophierung und bodennahem Ozon ("Göteborger Protokoll") verabschiedet. Im Göteborger Protokoll werden für jeden Vertragsstaat maximal zulässige Emissionswerte (Emissionshöchstgrenzen) für die vier wichtigsten Vorläuferstoffe festgelegt, die Versauerung, Eutrophierung oder bodennahes Ozon verursachen: Schwefeldioxid, Stickoxide, fluechtige organische Verbindungen und Ammoniak.
