beef meat, pig and poultry meat, eggs, sheep and goat milk and meat production – plays a major role in the European agricultural economy; and that farmers’ primary goal is to keep their livestock healthy and productive through good agricultural practices rela

I therefore call on the Commission to develop a broad, multiannual action plan against AMR within the framework of the EU animal health strategy (2011-2015).– (PT) Ich stimme für diesen Vorschlag, angesichts der Tatsache, dass die Resistenz gegen antimikrobielle Mittel (AMR) für die europäische Viehzucht eine Frage der Tiergesundheit darstellt, besonders wenn die Behandlung fehlschlägt; dass in mehreren Mitgliedstaaten bereits Leitlinien für die umsichtige Verwendung antimikrobieller Mittel herausgegeben wurden, was zu einer Verringerung des Einsatzes antimikrobieller Mittel geführt hat; dass die Viehz
ucht – Erzeugung von Milchprodukten, Rindfleisch, Schweine- und Geflügelfleisch, Eiern, Schafs- und Ziegenmilch und -fleisch – in der europäischen Agrarwirtschaft eine wichtige Rolle spielt;
