In order for this position to develop to its full potential and to become a reality, it is absolutely crucial for the Commission to implement what is asked of it in paragraph 5: ‘.the Commission should fund an extensive research and development programme’ because unless it does fund a programme into the increased genetic and yield potential, utilisation and nutritive value of fodder legumes and grain legumes as key protein providers within the EU, what we will have are words rather than deeds.
Damit dieser Standpunkt sein ganzes Potenzial entfalten und zum Tragen kommen kann, ist es unbedingt erforderlich, dass die Kommission die in Punkt 5 formulierte Forderung umsetzt, nämlich, .dass „die Kommission ein umfangreiches Forschungs- und Entwicklungsprogramm .finanzieren sollte“; denn wenn die Kommission kein Programm zur Steigerung des Gen- und Ertragspotenzials, der Verwendung und des Nährwerts von Futter- und Körnerleguminosen als wichtigsten Eiweißlieferanten finanziert, dann bleiben das bloße Worte.
