The agreement does not merely confine itself to opening markets but also includes a general alignment of aviation legislation on both sides, around key aspects of the Community rules and regulations on aviation, including those concerning safety, economic regulation and, in particular, competition, air traffic control and consumer protection.
Ziel des Abkommens ist nicht nur die Öffnung der Märkte, sondern auch eine allgemeine Annäherung der Rechtsvorschriften der beiden Parteien in für die europäischen Luftverkehrsvorschriften wesentlichen Aspekten, darunter die Sicherheit, das Wirtschafts- und insbesondere das Wettbewerbsrecht, das Flugverkehrsmanagement und der Verbraucherschutz.
