The European Commission today fined Hoffmann-La Roche AG, Archer Daniels Midland Co (ADM), Jungbunzlauer AG, Haarmann Reimer Corp and Cerestar Bioproducts B.V. a total of € 135.22 million for participating in a price-fixing and market-sharing cartel in citric acid, the world's most widespread acidulent and preservative used mainly in non-alcoholic beverages and in preserved food such as jams, gelatine-based deserts and tinned fruit".
Die Europäische Kommission hat heute gegen die Unternehmen Hoffmann-La Roche AG, Archer Daniels Midland Co (ADM), Jungbunzlauer AG, Haarmann Reimer Corp and Cerestar Bioproducts B.V. Geldbußen in Höhe von insgesamt 135.22 Millionen Euro verhängt. Die Unternehmen hatten sich an einem Kartell beteiligt, in dem es um die Festsetzung der Preise und Aufteilung der Märkte für Zitronensäure ging, das weltweit am häufigsten vor allem in alkoholfreien Getränken und Konfitüren, Gelees und Gelatine-Süßspeisen sowie in Frucht- und Gemüsekonserven verwendete Säuerungs- bzw. Konservierungsmittel.
